Improved STAR-MOUNT Flat Mount Pro

A few weeks ago we modified our Starlink standard antenna and installed it flat on the roof of our four-wheel drive motorhome (MAN TGM 18.320 4×4 with Blissmobil 16ft mobile home), see Starlink - Fixed installation of the standard antenna (Part 2). On the first try (using the Star Mount "Flat Mount Low Profile for Starlink Dishy") there was damage relatively quickly, presumably due to the poor watertightness of the proprietary Starlink connectors. In this context, we exchanged information intensively with Brandon from Starmount-Systems and then modified our approach - since then we have been using a waterproof RJ-45 connector, as you can see in the post linked above. Starmount-Systems has recently started offering a version of its Star-Mount Flat Mount with a waterproof RJ-45 connector:

If we were to install the antenna flat at this point in time, we would definitely choose this new version of the star mount.

    Good morning,

I read with interest your articles about the Starlink antenna and its modification.
I am also interested in putting such an antenna as a 'flat mount' on my motorhome roof. Since I'm not so skilled at craftsmanship that I don't trust such a modification including a 12-volt connection, my question would be whether there is a workshop that can carry out this modification and install the antenna for me?
Can you also answer me whether you have satellite reception, i.e. Internet, while driving?

    Greetings from Rengsdorf (near Koblenz)

    1. Hello Mr. Wolff,
      thank you for your comment!
We were also supported in the manual implementation of the described design by the manufacturer of our living cabin (Bliss Mobil BV, Breda, Netherlands), simply because our living cabin is still under warranty and we therefore refrain from making any modifications ourselves. I can't say whether other companies offer similar services. Since you come from near Koblenz, maybe once Bocklet vehicle construction ask?
My setup currently also works while driving, but this function is not explicitly specified by Starlink. So I can imagine that this feature will no longer be supported at some point - especially since Starlink also sells more expensive hardware and subscriptions that are specified for use while driving.
Best regards from the North Sea!
